After President Ho Chi Minh passed away and in order to respond to the people's expectations, feelings and aspirations for him, on September 10, 1969, the Ho Chi Minh Temple was started to be built in Ong Bong Hamlet, Ong Trang Hamlet, right at the intersection of Vien An Commune. The temple was built with each side 4.5m wide; the beams and walls were made of wood and mangrove planks; the temple roof was a 2-storey structure, covered with tin, on top of which was a bird of peace painted in the color of mangrove leaves. Inside, on the front side, there is an altar and a woven fabric photo of President Ho Chi Minh, 50 x 70 cm in size, the floor was covered with mangrove planks. In front of the temple is the inscription "Ho Chi Minh Temple". On September 25, 1969, the Ho Chi Minh Temple was inaugurated and over 600 local officials and people attended.

After the complete liberation of the South and the unification of the country, on May 10, 1975, the Ong Trang Hamlet Party Cell agreed to move the Ho Chi Minh Temple from Ong Bong, Ong Trang Hamlet to the current Ong Trang estuary. When moving, the Ong Trang Hamlet Party Cell borrowed 2 large boats with a capacity of over 10 tons to make a raft, wrapped around with white cloth with the image of a white dove, with flags and slogans, then carried the Temple to parade from Ong Trang to Ca Mau town, returning to Ong Trang estuary after 4 days. After that, the commune gathered forces to carry the Temple to the current Ong Trang estuary. This is the earliest built temple of Uncle Ho in Ca Mau.

On March 26, 1996, the Ho Chi Minh Temple in Vien An Commune, Ngoc Hien District was recognized by the People's Committee of Minh Hai Province as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
